About Us

Well LOL - it's actually an About Me page (there is no "us")  - unless you count my "Distractor".  See my page about him if you'd like more info about that.

My current interest is divided between smaller characters in the stuffie shop and machine embroidery in-the-hoop projects.  Also my first love of woodworking gets quite a workout when I'm able to have time for it.  I use a large selection of patterns (both purchased from others and created myself) in these projects.  You'll find a link or tag to the pattern creator where possible.  Some of my patterns are so old that I no longer have a record of where they came to me from.

I am a small home-based business just trying to get by in the world.  An elderly (over 65) crafter living in deep country South Georgia, USA.  Hence the name of Southern Crone.  It takes courage to grow old in this day and time.  I am choosing to do so with as much grace and dignity as possible.  I strongly identify with the definition of crone being used to describe a wise elderly woman with seemingly magical power.  That's probably because it takes some kind of magic (aka humor ... liquor ... medication ... ) to actually grow old without just falling apart.  Each day brings its own challenges.  I tend to have a warped sense of humor and I'm sure it comes out in my projects.  I hope they bring as much joy to you as they did to me while making each and every one of them.
